BOOK: THOUGHTS & PRAYERS
Graeme McClimont
Exile is a place never chosen, where one is found contrary to their hopes and dreams, but it is nevertheless a place often visited on spiritual journeys.
Prayers In Exile is a journal that traces the first year "in exile" for the writer, who moved from his homeland to Papua New Guinea, a nation on a precipice between disaster and hope.
In the Old Testament psalms, exiles record their hope and pain. ‘Prayers in Exile’ is a faint echo of those very human writings.
It was written to come to terms with both the experience of exile and a rapid immersion into an unknown culture. It comes with the hope that it might aid others inhabiting dark spaces in the time of their own personal exile.
